Ice Bucket Challenge and the Ultimate Journey To Life: An Artists Journey To Life: Day 640

”In the last two weeks, the Ice Bucket Challenge has quite literally “soaked” the nation. Everyone from Ethel Kennedy to Justin Timberlake has poured a bucket of ice water over his or her head and challenged others do the same or make a donation to fight ALS within twenty-four hours.

Between July 29 and today, August 12, The ALS Association and its 38 chapters have received an astonishing $4 million in donations compared to $1.12 million during the same time period last year. The ALS Association is incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support from those people who have been doused, made a donation, or both. Contributions further The Association’s mission to find a cure for ALS while funding the highest quality of care for people living with the disease.”

I have some questions here

I have been watching this point for the past 2 weeks and it has been curious to me why it is that such a point ‘caught on’. And what is going to be the impact of such a campaign.

What I see is that one reason why this has become so popular is in large part because it is easy to do.

Another question I have is what does it mean to really actually support a cause like this and not only this but to support all causes like this, meaning, it is becoming increasingly more obvious that there is allot of problems in this world where there is allot of unnecessary suffering and deaths and destruction. This ranging from diseases, to wars, to violence, to animal abuse, to the destruction of our natural environment, all of which could actually be prevented.

So what is the REAL Impact of the ‘ice bucket challenge’ and is it really helping, and then the scariest question of all  –  Is there more I can do???

If I do in fact CARE about such a cause, then that would be a reasonable question or Challenge to pose.

Because what I have found is that to really have an impact on this world, or for that matter in ones own life, it requires a point of discipline, and time investment into actually working more thoroughly and  holistically with the problem so to speak.

So here you have everyone from  celebrities to  professional athletes to regular people ‘showing their support’ which is great, however, I would Challenge here that to actually have an IMPACT in terms of the implementation of a Solution for  this ‘problem’ (ALS) and the problems of the world is going to require more than an afternoon where you dump a bucket of ice water on your head!

So Id say it’s a ‘cool’ way (no pun intended) to get peoples attention but then is that all this challenge is designed to do? Because what I find is that to actually have an impact on anything anywhere requires a daily consistent effort. So then my question is what are these celebrities, athletes, and other individuals who took part in this challenge doing ‘after the fact’ to extend this challenge into their daily lives so that it does become more than just a blink of an eye gesture, but becomes something that really does have real results which I see will only happen through individuals really challenging themselves to make these ‘issues of the world’ something that becomes a part of their daily living where time is dedicated everyday to really investigating how one is actually able to have an impact on these issues and problem s of the world, and thus making the necessary changes, and actions to do this.

So a valuable consideration here that Id like to highlight is simply this point of how we as individuals have not yet really grasped how it is that we are actually able to bring forth a solution to problems like this one and any and all problems in this world. And that yes, it is going to take quite an Effort on an individual level to do this, but that also – It is possible!

Now interestingly there is a group of individuals who have taken on quite a challenge within themselves and their lives to bring forth real change, however this is not so much sweeping across the internet as some massive sensation. We do not have celebrities, or professional athletes jumping to show their support. Our Challenge is not flashy, and does not take one afternoon. In fact It takes a LIFETIME, and it starts with a Dedication of 7 YEARS! – Think you can handle it?…I mean, How much do you really Care?

It is called the “Journey To Life” Where a group of individuals have essentially dedicated their lives to bringing forth a Real Solution to the problems of this world that begins with of course, a Change and Transformation of Oneself within and as the principle that you cannot help another if you first do not help yourself.  “The Journey To LIFE” is a process of Self Transformation and Self Correction where individuals start with themselves and their own lives in terms of making changes to ensure they in fact are living in a way that is Best and that is Taking Responsibility for what we have created here on this earth, starting initially on an individual level.

So – What is the “Journey To Life” Challenge!

To open a blog where one dedicate oneself to daily writing for 7 years! Everyblog post counts as one day of writing until one reach the 7 years of writing.

For more details with regards to the nature of the writing required to assist and support oneself to actually start walking the process of self investigation, self realization, and self change, please research those that have already begun this process.

You can find multiple examples of how to do this on the Journey To Life facebook page.

Ok so here I Challenge anyone who claims they are really in fact concerned with the problems of the world to take on THE ULTIMATE challenge and Walk the “Journey To LIFE Challenge”  and challenge yourself to see if you are really up for the task of Self Change and thus World Change.
