The “Minimum Wage” Mentality – An Artists Journey To Life: Day 430

Today I watched news story about fast-food workers launching a strike for a “Living Wage”. What stood out to me about this particular story was the use of the word “Living Wage” as that which these workers were seeking as opposed to the normally issued ‘minimum wage’ as the lowest possible wage that business are legally able to pay their employees.

To me what this difference in terminology as the Living Wage Vs Minimum Wage reveals is a sort of “state of being” or “collective acceptance” that we as humanity have taken on in terms of how we really approach life and living.

Why has it not always been a “Living Wage”? I mean to me, the existence of a ‘Minimum Wage’ simply reveal our attitudes towards one another and towards life and this attitude is actually quite evil.

Minimum wage is supposed to be a kind of apparent mercy implemented by government to  protect people from being exploited by those with money, essentially protecting us from ourselves,  where now there is a minimum wage set which really just implies that if this was not law that we as individuals as ourselves and so collectively would in fact exploit our fellow man with no regard in fact for each other where money and more specifically MY MONEY becomes more valuable than actual Life itself as the actual real labour and time, provided by those SPENDING their lives doing the work.

Why has not our attitude towards our fellow man been one of actually ensuring all have a LIVING WAGE? Common Sensically this would indicate a more giving, caring, loving, good natured humanity where we would be actually moving ourselves to enhance one another’s lives and expressions.  I mean the very fact that minimum wage exist is like a testament to Evil Nature of Man. If man was not actually evil, there’d be no minimum wage. The Question would be not “how little can a pay my neighbour and still get away with it”, the question would rather be, “how can I ensure the value of my neighbour?”, “How can remunerate my fellow man in a way that is equal, and support them just as I would like to be, assisted to reach their utmost potential just as I would want for myself, mankind and life as a whole.

So Minimum wage really show how cruel mankind is and it actually also show how blinded we are to our own nature in that this point seems to go unnoticed that if there was no regulations on this that we’d simply exploit each other. revealing authority of Self Interest as the guiding principle of our lives instead of what is best for all within and as equality.

So what we require is a LIVING WAGE for all mankind.

Here I’d suggest researching

“Basic Income Guaranteed” (BIG) as being proposed by the Equal Life Foundation Research Group. BIG is a Policy being introduced to ensure ones Basic Human Rights and designed to really bring out the best of man based on  Living Principles that is truly an example of a kind, caring, loving Humanity.
